SUPPORT GROUPS

Beyond Breast Cancer

This is a support group that offers not only emotional support, but education as well. The group is facilitated by Tenille Oderwald, RN; Lisa Steil, RN; and Shelley Gregg, PhD. Meetings are held at the Susan G. SHARE

At SHARE, parents help others who have experienced the death of a baby or a pregnancy that ended too soon. SHARE meets on the second Thursday of the month, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Call Irma Robbins at 309-683-6617 or 309-694-2610 for the exact location.

Managing Your Heart Health

The winter series will be offered from January through April 2008. These free programs are provided by OSF Saint Francis Heart Hospital and Wellness Services at the RiverPlex Recreation and Wellness Center in Peoria. The first program is Thursday, January 24, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Pam Lichtenstein, an exercise specialist, will talk about stress management and how it relates to health. Family Birthing Center

The Family Birthing Center offers a variety of courses for expectant parents and their families, including childbirth classes, breastfeeding classes, massage therapy, and support groups. Fibromyalgia and You

This wellness seminar offers support for people living with fibromyalgia. It will be held on March 1 from 9 to 11 a.m., at the RiverPlex Recreation and Wellness Center in Peoria. The event is sponsored by OSF Saint Francis Arthritis Services and the Arthritis Foundation. The cost is $10. Call 309-282-1607 to register.
