Welcoming a New Doctor and Specialty

You might notice a new face at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center—Ellen Pratt, MD. She sees adult and pediatric patients at the OSF Allergy and Immunology Clinic within the OSF Medical Group- Glen Park Family Practice Building. Her specialty is also new to the OSF Medical Group.

NEW SERVICES CLOSE TO HOME

“It’s nice to be able to offer these services to the OSF community,” says Dr. Pratt. “Before I arrived, there was no one within the OSF System offering services to adult patients with allergies or to patients with immunodeficiency.”

Dr. Pratt was trained and board certified as a pediatrician before completing a fellowship in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology. “I’ve always been interested in this specialty,” she says. “I’m fascinated with the immune system’s connection to everything else in the body. It’s such an important piece of the whole picture.”

IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE

Dr. Pratt treats patients of all ages for a wide range of conditions, including nasal, food, and drug allergies; asthma; and immunodeficiency.

“I see lots of patients who have been suffering for some time with their symptoms, and they don’t know if their symptoms are related to an allergy,” says Dr. Pratt. “It’s very satisfying when patients leave your office feeling good. I really enjoy helping people improve their quality of life.”
