Overview of OSF System Laboratory

Comprised of six hospital laboratory facilities located throughout North Central Illinois and Michigan, the OSF System Laboratory offers a full array of testing services. OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria serves as the esoteric testing center for the OSF System Laboratory. With eleven board-certified pathologists, three Ph.D. scientists, and over 270 laboratory employees obtaining results for more than 200,000 test requests each month, the OSF System Laboratory provides immediate response and support for clinicians. The OSF System Lab offers a full array of testing services, meeting the needs of fifteen hospitals, several nursing homes, and thousands of physicians. In addition to chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology, and histology testing, we perform on site flow Cytometry, specialized coagulation testing, and operate a full service cytogenetics department. Our laboratories are certified by the College of American Pathologists, the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, and accredited under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988.
