Interventional Pulmonary Lab
Welcome to the Interventional Pulmonary Lab at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. A first for central Illinois, our Interventional Pulmonary Lab is dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of patients with lung disorders. Interventional pulmonology is a new field within pulmonary medicine that focuses on the use of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to treat patients with lung cancer, benign airway disorders and pleural diseases.
Minimally Invasive Pulmonary Procedures
Our team of health care professionals is formally trained in advanced, minimally invasive pulmonary procedures utilizing cutting-edge technology to precisely determine the nature of a patient’s lung disease, assess its severity and provide the treatments needed for improved health.
These minimally invasive procedures are done with moderate sedation. Patients have a low risk of complications and may go home after two hours. This can replace the need for traditional surgery.
