The Susan
G. Komen Breast Center (SGKBC) is an affiliate of OSF Saint
Francis Medical Center. The Breast Center re-located
in July 2001 to A Woman's Place at the OSF Saint Francis
Center for Health;
a 14,700 square foot center dedicated to the unique health
issues of women.
The staff of the Susan G. Komen Breast Center is committed
to the good health of the women in our community. This
center is dedicated the memory of Susan G. Komen, a native
of Peoria, who died in 1980 after a three year battle with
breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen Breast Center was founded in 1990 and is a screening and
diagnostic mammography service hub for central Illinois. We are dedicated to timely
diagnostic and compassionate treatment of all breast problems. It is
the primary mission of the centers to encourage early diagnosis through screening
mammography and promotion of breast self-examination education.
Appointments are taken Monday-Friday at all five centers and on Saturday at
the Susan G. Komen Breast Center at the OSF Saint Francis Center for Health
and can
be made by calling the scheduling line: (309) 683-5522.
