Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center

Compassionate, comprehensive care for people who have non-healing wounds

Being healthy and active are two of life's great pleasures. For people who have wounds that won't heal, life sometimes loses its enjoyment because of pain, fear and the inability to get around. =Images= | Wound Healing & HyperbaricEffective treatment can help heal wounds, and that's what the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center is all about.

OSF Saint Francis Medical Center's Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center combines inpatient, outpatient and home health care to insure you receive the most advanced wound care treatment available. A specially trained team of doctors, nurses and other medical professionals at the Center use advanced treatments to help wounds heal so you can feel better and get back to enjoying life.

Wound care and hyperbaric medicine specialists at the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center work with your physician to develop an individualized treatment plan. An advanced treatment option available at the Center may include hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric therapy delivers pressurized oxygen to help repair damaged tissue. Patient Testimonial

"I am currently a patient at the OSF Wound Center/Hyperbaric Unit.  I have had daily appointments at the unit since early August and I want to share a few thoughts with you.

I have had many health problems over the years:  severe asthma and allergies, second and third degree burns over 40% of my body from a propane gas explosion, two detached retinas, multiple systemic infections/sepsis, open heart surgery followed by complications, kidney failure, and most recently, amputation of my leg, revision of the amputation and difficulty healing.  I have been hospitalized numerous times.  I have received home health care with a PICC line three times, each time for several months following infections.

So suffice it to say that I have had plenty of experience with medical providers.  And that is why I feel that I can unequivocally state the treatment team at the Wound Center and Hyperbaric Unit is truly exceptional.  In this unit the staffs work together in perfect harmony to deliver professional care and to make each patient feel special, respected and valued.  Every employee is warm, friendly, helpful, compassionate and competent.  Although the services they provide could easily become routine, staff never appear to give less than 100% genuine attention to the needs of the patient.  I simply could not ask for more."
