Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a branch of the traditional Chinese martial art. As a means of keeping fit and preventing and curing diseases, it has been widely practiced among the Chinese people. Tai Chi is a series of slow, coordinated exercises, performed smoothly and accurately with the muscles relaxed and the mind absorbed in each movement.
It is becoming increasingly popular with practitioners of all ages. It can be particularly beneficial to older adults, enhancing their balance and flexibility. Through Tai Chi exercise, the following benefits can be achieved.

Beginner and Advanced Classes
The OSF Medical Exercise Program offers both basic and advanced level Tai Chi classes. Our lower level beginner's class is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays from 1:15 to 2:00pm. Anyone can benefit from these basic Tai Chi classes, which are well suited for both those who are accustomed to a high level of activity and for those with fibromyalgia, arthritis, MS, Parkinson's or those who are limited by other health problems. Chairs are available for participants that need them.
Our advanced class is held Fridays from 7:15am to 7:45am, and is recommended for anyone who has past experience in beginner's level classes.
Pricing
All Tai Chi classes are included in your RiverPlex membership. If you are not a member of the RiverPlex, a 10 session punchcard may be purchased thru the OSF Medical Exercise Program for $40.
