Frequently Asked Questions

Will my insurance cover the cost of my weight loss programs?
All of our programs are fee-for-service, which means payment is due at the time of service.  We do not bill insurance companies directly.  We encourage you to check with your insurance company to see if they cover preventative services, like weight loss.  You may be able to use your Health Savings Account (HSA), or Flex Spending Account (FSA) for payment.

Where do the programs take place?
All programs meet at the RiverPlex Recreation & Wellness Center at 600 NE Water Street in Peoria.  "At Home" programs are also available if you cannot meet at the RiverPlex.

Do I have to be a member of the RiverPlex to participate in a weight loss program?
No.  All of our programs are open to the community.  As a participant in the Weight Loss Center, you will be offered a 3-month RiverPlex membership for a special rate of $99, which is optional.

What if I'm not sure which program to choose?
Call us at 309-282-1612 to schedule a free orientation.  Orientations are held every Thursday at 2:00 PM, or by appointment.  Click here to see the schedule.  We will help you decide which program is best for you.

Can I bring my kids to the meetings?
The RiverPlex offers affordable child care services for younger kids and an interactive XRGame Zone for older kids.  Visit www.riverplex.org for hours, pricing, and more information.
