Academic
Schedule
The School of Radiography is a 24-month program of full-time study. Classes
begin in January of each year. The initial three months are
spent in classroom and observation; thereafter, the student
will be involved in both clinical and classroom studies.
Clinical days are generally from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., while
classroom days are shorter. Some of the clinical time is assigned
on weekends and/or second shift hours. Clinical and didactic
hours total no more than 40 hours per week.
Vacations
Students are given four weeks of vacation time each year, which
must be taken during the two-week quarter breaks scheduled in
the curriculum.
Holidays
Students receive the six nationally-recognized holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Personal Days
Students are allowed seven personal days per year. These days
should be scheduled in advance whenever possible.
Health Services and Insurance
Students must assume responsibility for their own health care
and hospitalization costs during the school year. It is strongly
recommended that all students obtain health insurance coverage
for the duration of the program. Emergency medical care is available
to the student during school hours, but at the expense of the student. Occupational Health is available to the student for immunizations, medical testing and minor injuries at no cost to the student.
Students are required to obtain a complete physical examination
after acceptance into the program and prior to the starting date.
Student Services
Students have access to the Radiography rooms in the clinical areas of rotations and imaging phantoms to practice exams. They have access to the medical library and internet access in the clinical area and classroom. Scheduled tutoring is available with individual instructors.
Student Policies
Prior to the start of the program, all students enrolled in the
School of Radiography will receive a student handbook. The handbook
contains school policies which the student is expected to follow
throughout the program.
Rights Reserved Statement
The School of Radiography reserves the right to modify, revoke
or add to regulations at any time, through normal academic and
hospital channels. This includes the right to change fees charged, graduation requirements, and any regulations
affecting students whether they be academic or pertaining to
student life.
