If the applicant is accepted into the program, it is contingent on the successful completion of the coursework with a "C" or better.
Health/Language/Ethical Requirements
- Applicants must be in good health and have the ability to safely perform the duties of a staff radiographer. Therefore, conditional acceptance into the program is offered to those entering the school until an acceptable physical examination is performed by the Center for Occupational Health of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Unacceptable results will prevent the applicant from participating in clinical education at the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center clinical sites, a critical component of the program. The applicant, therefore, would not be admitted into the program.
- Conditional acceptance is also granted to applicants until a criminal background check is completed. Unacceptable results will prevent the applicant from participating in clinical education at the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center clinical sites, a critical component of the program. The applicant, therefore, would not be admitted into the program.

Admission Procedure
- Student applicants request information from the School of Radiography. Information, along with an application form and reference forms are sent to the potential applicant.
- The School of Radiography accepts applications between March and September of each year. Application deadline is August 1.
- When all admission criteria is received by the school, the information is evaluated to determine if the applicant meets minimum requirements. Admission criteria includes the completed application, $50 application fee, ACT scores, official transcripts of all high school and college(s) attended, and three completed reference forms.
- If the minimum requirements are met, the applicant is scheduled for an evening of Orientation and a subsequent personal interview at the school.
The personal interview allows the applicant to gain a better understanding of the School of Radiography, its faculty and the educational process and ask related questions.
This interview allows the program administrators to learn about the applicant's personality, interests, background, attitudes, motivations, and knowledge of the field. The committee informs the applicant of responsibilities expected of students in the School of Radiography as well as the school's responsibilities to the student.
- If minimum requirements are not met, a letter of rejection is sent to the applicant. Applicants who are not accepted into the program are encouraged to register in post-secondary courses and reapply the following year.
- All applicants who have completed all steps of the admission procedure will be notified of their acceptance status in writing within about six (6) weeks of their interview. This time period may be longer, depending on how many individuals have placed applications with the school. A maximum of eleven students are accepted into the school each year.
- Those accepting the offer to enter the School of Radiography must confirm in writing. After the applicant has confirmed their acceptance, a copy of the Student Handbook is sent to the student.
- Acceptance into the program is conditional based on their passing a physical examination (including drug/alcohol testing), criminal background check, and successful completion of any required college course work (if applicable). The physical examination is done at the school's expense and will be performed within the 30 days prior to the program start date in the Center for Occupational Health.
- Transfer students from other Radiographic educational programs are not accepted due to the difficulty in assessing clinical performance and differing course content across educational programs.
